This year is shaping up to be a big year for G.I. Joe fans. In the spring, the adult-oriented series of G.I. Joe animated shorts "G.I. Joe: Resolute!" will make an appearance. In August of 2009, the live action movie "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" hits the theaters. That means, there are plenty of action figures in the works!

According to Toy Fare magazine, the G.I. Joe movie figures should hit stores 3 or 4 weeks before the movie. G.I. Joe Resolute figures, however, are on shelves now! Check them out!

The GI Joe Resolute micro-series will consist of several 5 minute shorts and one ten minute short. They will be more adult-oriented and it will break from the long standing tradition of previous animated series in that characters will die.

G.I. Joe fans are torn on the new movie. Traditionalists are a bit apprehensive given some of the information trickling out about how some of the characters are handled. We'll be reporting in more depth as the movie release nears.
